Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN with Neuro and Trauma Care experience for a 13-week assignment requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Work in a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit
• Day and night shift grids include 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNA, and 1 HUC
• Patient ratios of 4:1 at grid, stretched to 5:1
• Uses IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, chest tube supplies, trach care equipment, and patient lifts
• Cerner EMR used
• Performs neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO brace application, chest tube management, PCA pump management, IV infusions, lumbar drain care, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions
• Floating required to Stepdown units and Med-Surg units
• Every other weekend required
• 13-week assignment with a 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM shift

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Neuro and Trauma Care experience required
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a Progressive Care Unit focused on neuro and trauma cases
• Team-oriented, patient-focused personality preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates will be considered
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
