Job Summary: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurse position located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This role involves providing specialized care to patients requiring intermediate monitoring and treatment, focusing on cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients. The position offers the opportunity to work with advanced equipment and a dedicated team in a reputable healthcare environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/10/2026.
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, strong telemetry skills, experience titrating vasoactive medications such as levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine, and knowledge of chest tube management. Certifications: ACLS and BLS.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with arterial lines, Flo-Tracs, temporary pacing, and pre-operative preparation for cardiovascular surgeries.
Additional Information: The unit features new equipment and technology, with staff experienced in cardiovascular and vascular surgery. Support is available from the mobility team, and patient monitoring is performed via central monitor stations. Floating is on a rotation basis, with travelers floating first. Bedside shift reports are completed during bedside handoffs, and the team maintains updated care boards each shift to enhance patient experience.
