Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Critical Care Unit night shift position requiring Epic EMR experience and ACLS certification.

Details

• Progressive Critical Care Unit caring for medically delicate and surgically complex adult patients
• Patient population includes respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications
• Average patient load is 3 high-acuity patients
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, issued by AHA or RQI
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in progressive/critical care required
• Large scale adult PCU experience and community hospital ICU experience preferred
• Competent in management of advanced hemodynamics, pressor titration, antihypertensive and sedative drips, arterial lines, CVP, EVD, ortho traction, and infection prevention protocols
• Experience with HFNC, BiPap/CPAP, and oxygen-dependent patients required
• Competency testing required within 24 hours of submission
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required
• Medical exemption only accepted for flu declination; personal or religious exemptions not accepted

Additional Information

• Care for medically and surgically complex patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week assignment may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO requests must be submitted at time of application
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
