Responsibilities
- Provide expert assessment, treatment, consultation, planning, and leadership oversight for lactation management in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Formulate interdisciplinary plans of care for patients with advanced lactation support needs and communicate goals to the care team.
- Deliver outpatient prenatal and postpartum lactation education, consultations, and teaching; participate in inpatient lactation programs as needed.
- Collaborate with obstetric, pediatric, nursing, and allied health teams; document care and outcomes in the patient record (Meditech Expanse strongly preferred).
- Ensure compliance with licensure, credentialing, and facility policies; maintain patient privacy and safety throughout the lactation care process.

Requirements
- Certification: International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with at least 1 year of IBCLC experience; minimum 2,500 hours of lactation consulting required (equivalents not accepted).
- Licensure/Registration: Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License (Nursing Pool) required for submission; active MA nursing license is expected.
- Experience: Inpatient lactation program experience; outpatient prenatal and postpartum lactation education/consultations.
- Technology: Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred.
- Credentials: BLS from American Heart Association required; board certification documentation must be provided at profile upload.
- Travel/Eligibility: Travelers must have their own vehicle for this assignment; residency restrictions apply (travelers residing within 50 miles of the location will not be considered); scheduling requests (RTO) must be included at submission and will not be approved after an offer.
- Additional: Ability to work in a hospital setting with both inpatient and outpatient lactation services.
