Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to individuals in an acute care setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Perform initial triage, primary and secondary assessments, monitor patient condition, and document changes accurately.
- Administer medications and therapies according to physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions and escalate as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the interprofessional team to ensure safe, efficient, and evidence-based care.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, coordinating staffing, delegating tasks, and ensuring patient safety and workflow efficiency.
- Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and appropriate post-acute care referrals; uphold infection prevention and safety standards.
Requirements
- Active RN license with eligibility to practice in New York (or current licensure, as applicable)
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in acute care or a closely related setting
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and adapt to changing patient needs
- Flexibility to work variable shifts and weekends as required by the assignment
