Overview
Registered Nurse – Charge Acute Care travel assignment in Geneva, New York. Start date: 08/17/2026. Contract length: 22–26 weeks (must run through January). Weekly pay: $1,345–$1,435 per week. Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed. Shift: 2x12-hour rotating days/nights. Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital with Emergency Department duties as applicable.

Responsibilities
- Perform initial triage, conduct primary and secondary assessments, and establish care priorities in the ED environment; communicate clearly with patients and families.
- Provide direct patient care and administer interventions appropriate to emergency and acute care needs; monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition.
- Assist with and/or perform invasive and non-invasive procedures as appropriate; support resuscitation efforts and rapid assessment/management of life-threatening events.
- Document assessments, treatments, and discharge instructions; educate patients and families on care plans, safety, and follow-up needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain a healing and safe environment, and adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
- Demonstrate professional communication and time management, especially during high-acuity or high-volume periods; ensure accurate handoffs and updates to care teams.
Requirements
- Active NYS Registered Nurse license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI) cited in job-specific requirements; NIHSS knowledge considered a plus
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital RN experience; at least 1 year of ED hospital experience
- Ability to work a 2x12-hour rotating schedule, including day and night shifts and holiday coverage
- Adequate clinical judgment and experience in high-acuity emergency and acute care settings
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and families
