Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for adult medical-surgical patients, with emphasis on orthopedic trauma and postoperative spine cases, including telemetry monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; manage IV lines, drains, wound care, and pain management plans.
- Monitor patient status, interpret telemetry data, recognize early changes, and implement appropriate interventions; respond to alarms and emergencies promptly.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and ancillary staff; participate in rounds and discharge planning; educate patients and families on care plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record; uphold infection control, patient safety, and quality standards; participate in on-call or weekend/holiday coverage as required per unit needs.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience (orthopedic trauma and spine) on a Med/Surg/telemetry unit
- Telemetry experience required
- BLS (American Heart Association) certified
- ACLS (American Heart Association) certified
- Nursing degree from an accredited program; ability to work in a hospital Med/Surg setting
- Preferred: experience in a level 1 trauma facility
