Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for neonates in a Level II NICU, including gestational age 22 weeks and greater, assessing status and responding to changes.
- Monitor vitals, perform routine neonatal assessments, manage respiratory support and ventilation alongside the multidisciplinary team; assist with ROP exams as needed.
- Administer medications and provide feeding/nutrition support within established protocols; participate in daily rounds with the NICU team; ensure accurate documentation in EPIC.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners (RT, PT, pharmacy, radiology, social services) and coordinate care to support families and newborn outcomes; respond to rapid responses and emergencies per unit policy.
- Maintain appropriate patient-to-nurse ratios (approx. 1:3) for days, nights, and weekends; float to the Family Maternity Center/Postpartum area for newborn care as required.
- Adhere to infection control practices, participate in unit orientation and ongoing annual training, and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in Washington state or a valid compact license
- BCLS (BLS) and NRP certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Level III NICU experience; travel experience required; prior charge experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to care for neonates >=22 weeks gestation; EPIC charting experience
- Willingness to float within NICU skill set and participate in 24-hour orientation; ability to work the required weekend/holiday schedule
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
