Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

Key Responsibilities
Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, operating invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices
Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial puncture according to policy
Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care including tube insertion and removal
Perform 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines
Set up, self-test, operate, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed
Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds
Required Qualifications
Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
Current BLS and ACLS certification
Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation equipment
Ability to perform arterial puncture, endotracheal intubation via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope, and pulmonary function studies
Ability to work with minimal supervision and evaluate patients to recommend treatment plans
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation protocols
Familiarity with PleurX catheter drainage procedures
Experience performing routine chest x-ray review for clinical evaluation purposes
