Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an Advanced Care/EMU unit, requiring IL RN licensure and at least three years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the Advanced Care/EMU unit of a hospital setting
  • Monitor EMU patients 24/7 for seizure activity
  • Collaborate with critical care team and hospitalists on Advanced Care patients
  • Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 days per week
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Weekend requirement of 5 shifts within a 6-week schedule
  • EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
  • Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • EPIC EMR charting experience required

Additional Information

  • Utilize meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to communicate with patients and families
  • Complete initial assessments and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs
  • Provide constructive feedback to peers and engage in ongoing professional development
  • Responsible for reporting and correcting safety hazards for patients and staff
  • Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 upcoming major holidays
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Returning workers must complete a 6-month break in service after 1 year of continuous assignment before returning to this health system
