Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled RN Infection Preventionist & Employee Health professional is responsible for infection surveillance, prevention, education, regulatory compliance, and employee health management. This role supports organizational safety initiatives through monitoring hospital-acquired infections, conducting employee health screenings, and ensuring adherence to infection prevention standards established by regulatory agencies including:
The Joint Commission (TJC)
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
The ideal candidate must be experienced as an infection preventionist and demonstrate proficiency in hospital epidemiology principles..
Conduct surveillance, investigation, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs)
Review microbiology reports, patient records, isolation orders, and exposure incidents
Analyze infection trends and implement prevention strategies
Participate in outbreak investigations and reporting
Conduct infection prevention rounds and staff education throughout the facility
Assist with infection control meetings and organization-wide communication
Support quality improvement initiatives related to infection prevention
Develop and implement employee orientation and infection prevention education programs
Conduct employee health screenings, immunization reviews, and injury assessments
Monitor communicable disease exposures and maintain employee health records
Coordinate workers’ compensation reporting and referrals
Perform additional related duties as assigned
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Preferred
Minimum two years of acute care experience – Preferred
Must have direct experience working as an Infection Preventionist
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Required
CPR/BLS certification – Preferred
Infection Control Certification – Preferred
Public Health Nursing Credential – Preferred
