GENERAL INFORMATION

Tell us about the Unit:

• Number of Beds: 16 LDR, 3 OR, 3 Triage, 3 RR
• Number of Staff: 70

Type of Staff:

• Day Shift: 1 Charge RN, 12 RNs, 23 Surgical Techs
• Night Shift: 1 Charge RN, 67 RNs, 1 Surgical Tech

Patient Ratios:

• AWHONN ratios are the goal
• Ratios may be 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 depending on acuity
• 3:1 for low-acuity patients

Type of Equipment:

• Novii monitors
• iMobile
• Headsets
• Pass-through skin-to-skin C-section drape
• Deep soaker tubs
• Light therapy
• Aromatherapy

EMR:

• CPN
• Meditech

• Travel RNs

MUST HAVE:

Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.

• Current Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certification within the previous 2 years
• L&D experience
• ACLS
• AWHONN
• Registered Nurse License (VA)
• Current NRP
• Current BLS

PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE:

Candidates with these skills will be considered first.

• Experience at facilities with more than 3,000 births per year
• Experience providing patient-centered care

TYPICAL PROCEDURES PERFORMED

• Labor, delivery, recovery, and triage
• Antepartum care
• Circulate for C-sections
• First-hour newborn care, excluding admission assessment, eye care, and vitamin K/hepatitis B administration
• Breastfeeding assistance
