Position Summary

We are seeking an experienceddedicated and skilled RN Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will create an environment where frontline nurses and support teams deliver safe, compassionate, complication-free care while driving operational excellence and employee engagement. This leader maintains a highly visible presence within the department and partners closely with physicians, charge nurses, and executive leadership to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build and mentor a high-performing Labor & Delivery team

  • Recruit, coach, evaluate, and retain exceptional nursing talent

  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and professional growth

  • Partner with educators and unit champions to support ongoing staff development

Clinical & Operations

  • Ensure safe, evidence-based patient care practices

  • Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, and regulatory compliance

  • Lead daily interdisciplinary rounds and coordinate patient care activities

  • Resolve patient care and operational concerns efficiently

Staffing & Throughput Management

  • Manage staffing schedules and unit coverage

  • Authorize overtime and staffing adjustments as needed

  • Support patient throughput initiatives and discharge planning

  • Maintain department readiness and emergency preparedness standards

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) — Required

  • Master’s Degree — Preferred

Experience

  • Labor & Delivery background — Required

  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experienceRequired

  • Acute care hospital nursing experience — Preferred

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active California RN License — Required

  • BLS Certification — Required

  • NRP Certification — Required

  • EFM Certification — Required

Preferred:

  • National specialty certification in nursing leadership or maternal care
