Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring a compact or AL RN license and at least one year of recent ICU experience.

Details

• 18-bed Surgical ICU setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:00), every other weekend
• 30-minute lunch break required with no skipped meals

Requirements

• Active RN license (AL or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification via AHA required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum one year of recent ICU experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Skilled in IV insulin protocols, port access, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, and IV starts
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CVA/acute stroke management, and hypothermia protocol (Arctic Sun)
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and following infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Travel experience preferred, though not required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services within a Surgical ICU setting
• Hospital housing available in shared units with private bedrooms (male or female only, no pets)
• Facility offers flight reimbursement for economy travel with required documentation
• Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
• Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius at a lower pay rate
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for travel assignments
