General Information

We are seeking a qualified Speech Therapist to join our rehabilitation therapy services team. This position involves working within an acute care hospital and inpatient rehabilitation setting, providing essential speech therapy services to patients recovering from various medical conditions.

City: Plano, TX

Unit Overview

• Number of Beds: 600 beds in Acute Care; 40 beds in Inpatient Rehabilitation
• Staff Composition: 27 Full-Time Physical Therapists, 19 Full-Time Occupational Therapists, 9 Full-Time Speech Therapists
• Type of Staff: Day Shift only – includes Director, Manager, Supervisors, and Staff
• Type of Equipment: Walking equipment, bikes, therapy bars, treadmills
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
• Weekend Shift Requirement: Must work 2 weekend shifts per month as part of the schedule

Typical Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one speech therapy treatments to patients
• Conduct modified barium swallow studies in collaboration with radiology

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferably at a Level 1 Trauma facility or Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC)
• Demonstrated proficiency in performing modified barium swallow studies

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation environments

Note: Candidates with work history primarily in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), outpatient settings, pediatrics, or school settings will not be considered for this role.
