The role supports an inpatient setting with a focus on evaluating and treating patients with complex communication and swallowing needs.
Job Details
Position: Speech Language Pathologist (Inpatient) Specialty: SLP IP Location: Healthcare Facility
Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), Kansas Speech Language Pathologist license (in hand) National certification not required
Education & Experience: No minimum years of experience required, although at least 1 year preferred, with familiarity in acute care, dysphagia, and communication assessments
Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, 40 hours per week minimum
Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics, with an average daily census of 8-9 patients in rehab and acute units, managing speech, swallowing, and cognitive deficits
Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations, treat speech and cognitive impairments, perform bedside swallow evaluations, and utilize specialized equipment and assessment tools as listed in the skills.
Additional Information: Must have a valid Kansas or Compact license, ability to complete evaluations and treatments for patients with neurological conditions, and ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
