Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a MedSurg/Stepdown position requiring 2 years of med surg experience and comfort floating frequently between units.

Details

• 22-bed adult MedSurg Oncology unit that frequently floats to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
• Stepdown ratios of 1:4-5 and MedSurg ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend required
• Floating required within the hospital in rotation with staff
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating responsibilities
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required
• Travel experience preferred but not required
• No prior license or background check issues accepted

Additional Information

• Care for adult MedSurg Oncology patients with frequent floating to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
• Must be comfortable managing both MedSurg and Stepdown patient populations
• Holiday and weekend coverage required in rotation with staff
• Floating conducted in accordance with Joint Commission standards, including appropriate orientation to new units
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Returning staff must have been separated for at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of assignment
