Join a leading healthcare provider as a Step Down Registered Nurse in Mount Airy, NC. This contract position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can make a significant impact on patient care. We are seeking dedicated RNs with experience in step-down settings who are ready to take on new challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and manage dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including cardiac drips.
• Perform patient assessments and collaborate with the healthcare team to develop care plans.
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams effectively.
• Conduct patient education and support families during their care journey.

Required Skills/Certifications/Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Traveler experience preferred, but first-time travelers will be considered.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and Stroke Life Support certifications required.
• Experience with Meditech is required.
• Strong skills in cardiac telemetry, IV management, and wound care.

Preferred Skills/Certifications/Experience:

• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience in teaching hospitals and community hospitals is preferred.

Unit Details:

• Target Ratios: 1:4
• 36 hours can be offered per week.
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekends for 13-week contracts.
• Patient Diagnoses: Similar to ICU, excluding MI, GI bleeds, and DKA.
• Unit Orientation: 24 hours, with hospital orientation in the first week.
