Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity, heavily cardiac-focused PCU/Telemetry unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• Independently interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry monitoring without tech assistance; must pass a proctored, paper-based Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt using calipers
• Administer and titrate common cardiac drips including Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
• Manage a broad range of cardiac patient populations including Heart Failure, A-Fib, VTach, VFib, LVAD patients, Heart Transplant patients, and Congenital Heart Disease
• Perform and assist with procedures such as sheath removal/management, TR Band management, groin site management, cardioversions, and STEMI/NSTEMI care
• Float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed; travelers will not float to Cardiac Monitor Tech roles

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Georgia (or Compact license)
• Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must be able to independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt (no remediation; calipers required; no tech assistance permitted)
• Must have hands-on experience with cardiac drips listed above, telemetry interpretation, and chest tube management
• Must achieve a rating of "4" on all cardiac skills on the skills checklist
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local travelers

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Heart transplant experience (training may be available if needed)
• LVAD experience (training may be available if needed)
• Experience with Right and Left Heart Catheterizations, stent placement, valve replacement procedures, pacemakers, ICDs, and ablations
• Familiarity with high-volume admission/discharge environments and significant procedural workloads
