Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-acuity, heavily cardiac-focused PCU/Telemetry unit serving populations including heart failure, A-Fib, VTach, VFib, STEMI/NSTEMI, LVAD, and heart transplant patients
• Independently interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry monitoring; must pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt using calipers — no remediation opportunities and no tech assistance permitted
• Administer and manage common cardiac drips including insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, Lasix, and nitroglycerin
• Perform and assist with procedures including right/left heart catheterizations, sheath removal/management, TR band management, groin site management, cardioversions, pacemaker care, ICD management, and ablations
• Manage chest tubes and support patients through frequent admissions, discharges, and significant procedural volume
• Float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed; travelers are not eligible to float into Cardiac Monitor Tech positions

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Georgia
• Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must demonstrate a rating of "4" or higher on all cardiac skills on the skills checklist
• Must have chest tube experience and documented experience with all cardiac drips listed above
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local travelers

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Heart transplant experience (training may be available if needed)
• LVAD experience (training may be available if needed)
• Prior travel nursing experience in a cardiac or PCU setting
• Familiarity with valve replacement procedures, stent placement, and congenital heart disease patient populations
