Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience to deliver cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management on night shift.

Details

• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Dual unit covering PCU/Stepdown and floor side, with nurses working across both
• Patient ratios of 2-3 on PCU/Stepdown and 4-5 on the floor side
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma experience)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and cardiac monitoring required
• Experience managing and titrating cardiac drips required
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac) required
• Pre/post cardiac cath and pre/post cardiac surgery experience required
• Pending license accepted for consideration

Additional Information

• Works in a Magnet-designated, Teaching Hospital that is a Level I Trauma Center and Short Term Acute Care facility
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the health system as a traveler
• No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week
