Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Step-Down/PCU unit requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and ACLS certification for night shift coverage.

Details

• Dual unit covering PCU/Stepdown and floor side, with nurses working either side as needed
• PCU ratios of 2-3 patients, floor side ratios typically 4 and occasionally 5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within service line to meet facility needs
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma experience)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience managing and titrating cardiac drips required
• Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry and cardiac monitoring required
• Experience with pre/post cardiac cath and pre/post cardiac surgery patients preferred

Additional Information

• Provide care for cardiac telemetry and respiratory patients including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Manage and titrate cardiac drips and monitor chest tubes using Emerson/PleurEvac systems
• Respond to cardiac emergencies and provide ongoing cardiac monitoring
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility, no local candidates accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of the assignment
• Standard travelers may stay for an 18-month period, requiring a 3-month break afterward
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility is a Magnet and Teaching Hospital, designated as a Level I Trauma Center
