Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stepdown/IMCU unit requiring active MA licensure and at least 1 year of IMCU experience with telemetry proficiency.

Details

  • Work in a 27-bed Medical IMCU unit treating a mix of IMCU, neurology, and medsurg patients
  • High volume of neuro, medicine, and cardiology cases including chronic vents, trachs, and high acuity heart failure patients
  • Average patient ratios of 1:3 for IMCU and 1:4 to 1:4-5 for MedSurg patients
  • 12-hour shifts on a flex 36/48 DN rotation schedule
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • Uses auto med dispensing equipment

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of IMCU experience required
  • 2+ years of recent medsurg and telemetry experience required
  • Experience caring for neuro patients, MIs, and trach patients required
  • Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips
  • Critical care experience preferred
  • Must be able to care for patients with complex medical needs

Additional Information

  • Responsible for direct patient care in a high-acuity stepdown/IMCU setting
  • Telemetry rhythm strip test required on day 1 of assignment
  • Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible for consideration as travelers
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
  • First-time travelers may be considered if experience requirements are met
