Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Stepdown RN for a 10-week winter assignment at a Level I Trauma Center requiring 2 years of pediatric experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Stepdown unit in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
• Average patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Epic charting system used
• 10-week contract for winter coverage

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (or in process, pending license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, pediatric experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line care, chest tube management, NG tube insertion/management, and post-acute abdominal surgery care
• Experience with extremity fracture/cast care and ostomy/cleft-lip care
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to pediatric patients in a stepdown unit setting
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
• No holiday RTO permitted during this assignment
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed
• Local radius restriction waived specifically for this 10-week assignment
• Previously employed staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
