• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

• Shift Schedule: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.; weekend nights may include Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday
• Charting System: EPIC
• Patient Population: Neuroscience, stroke, seizures, deep brain stimulators, postoperative spine, and other neurological conditions
• Unit Environment: Approximately 20-bed neuro unit with typical floor ratios of 1:5–6

Neuro Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; license-to-submit candidates may be considered
• At least 1 year of recent Registered Nurse experience, including strong neuro nursing or acute-care medical-surgical experience
• Recent EPIC electronic health record experience required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification in hand at the time of submission
• ACLS certification preferred
• Proficiency with G-tube care and focused neurological assessments
• Ability to work night shifts, participate in the holiday rotation, and meet weekend scheduling expectations
• Flexibility to float to other hospital units when patient-care needs require

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients with acute and complex neurological conditions
• Perform focused neurological assessments and accurately document NIHSS findings in EPIC
• Monitor and care for patients experiencing stroke, seizures, postoperative spine recovery, and other neuro-related diagnoses
• Administer medications and manage physician-ordered titratable infusions according to applicable protocols
• Provide G-tube care and support patients with a variety of acute-care medical-surgical needs
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing assistants, respiratory therapists, monitor technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Verify monitor technician strip readings and document appropriately in EPIC
• Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate concerns promptly
• Follow unit, hospital, and infection-prevention standards while delivering high-quality patient care
