Schedule/Shift

Rotating shifts: Night Shift from 7pm to 7:30am and Day Shift from 7am to 7:30pm. Shifts may be variable to meet the operational needs of the hospital.

Job Description

The role involves providing care for patients in the Stepdown unit with the potential to float to units J1-2, J33, and the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, administering medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care. Core competencies will be assessed through an ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate evaluation during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Stepdown unit.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions as per protocols.
• Document care provided in the charting system and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Participate in patient and family education regarding care plans.
• Float to other units as needed while maintaining consistency in patient care standards.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 12 months of permanent experience in the specialty applying for.
• Prior charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with charting systems relevant to the healthcare setting.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active Ohio nursing license or a compact state license is required at the time of submission.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications must be current and in hand.
