Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit role requiring EPIC experience and stable chronic ventilator management skills.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
• Patient ratios targeted at 1:4, with potential to reach 1:5-6
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• 13- or 18-week contract options available
• Must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Floating required at facility discretion, potentially to main, south, or north campus locations within 15 miles
• May be assigned to float within specialty clusters or support nursing care teams on other units
• N95 fit testing required unless PAPR is provided for HRRU unit work

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required; PALS and TNCC preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• Experience with stable chronic ventilator patients required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting assignment
• IV start skills preferred
• Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and multisystem organ dysfunction management required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to progressive care patients requiring close cardiac and respiratory monitoring
• Perform skills such as ventilator management, central/PICC line care, arterial line management, and chest tube assistance as needed
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage cardiac and vasoactive drip titrations
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Agreement may be canceled by the facility with 2 weeks' notice
• Travelers are not eligible for facility employee incentive programs
• Lab work and EKG/dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission
• No RTO or schedule changes permitted after an offer is made
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this role
• Previous Premier Health perm/PRN staff or prior non-extended agency staff must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler
