Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a winter contract night shift position requiring Epic experience, ventilator-stable patient care, and an OH or compact RN license.

Details

• Step down unit setting at a hospital
• Targeted patient ratios of 1:4, with potential up to 1:5-6
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• 13 or 18-week contract options with 36 or 48 hour schedules available
• Floating required at facility discretion, potentially to Main, South, or North campus locations within 15 miles
• Must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
• Experience with stable chronic ventilator patients required
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting assignment
• Level 1 or 2 trauma center experience preferred
• IV start skills preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to stepdown/telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Skills include IV therapy, central/peripheral line management, respiratory care, and feeding tube management
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management preferred
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Facility reserves the right to cancel the assignment with 2 weeks' notice
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submittal
• No RTO or schedule changes will be accommodated after an offer is made
• References are not required for consideration
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted for this position
• Former Premier Health staff or previously non-extended agency staff must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler, pending facility rehire approval
• Travelers are not eligible for Premier Health employee incentives
