Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN with 2+ years of PCU/Stepdown experience for a night shift position requiring a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the 3 South Stepdown unit on a medical-surgical/telemetry floor
• Patient ratio of 1:4/5
• Night shift schedule of rotating 3x12 and 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30), totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license in hand required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown or telemetry experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Valid driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration
• Two professional references required (one charge or higher, one supervisor), both completed within the last year
• Flu vaccine required; declinations not accepted, though medical and religious exemptions may be approved case by case

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to stepdown/telemetry patients including cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and renal cases
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration responsibilities
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront; no changes accepted once approved
• Must work either a major or minor shift on every holiday
• Travelers who have completed a one-year assignment must take a minimum 6-month break before returning
• Minimal traveler pairs accepted; pairs will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• Orientation occurs on a bi-weekly basis
