License: Not specified Certifications: CBSPD and IAHCSMM/HSPA preferred Must-Have: Ability to serve as a preceptor for new employees. Bioburden error rate of 0.1% or less on a monthly basis. Daily tray volume average of 20 per day with a tray average of 100 instruments. Description: Candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience. This role is based in a busy sterile processing department. The department supports various surgical services including general surgery, robotic gynecology, cardiovascular/thoracic procedures, open hearts, laparoscopic surgery, urology, orthopedics, neuro spine, and organ procurement. Ability to operate sterilization equipment such as Steris steam sterilizers and Stryker VP4 machines is required. Knowledge of decontamination equipment, including Steris and Belimed ultrasonic washers, is essential. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills, both verbal and written. The role requires maintaining recommended standards for decontamination, inspection, and sterilization of surgical instruments. Responsibilities include assembling, inspecting, and storing medical supplies and equipment. Collaboration with peri-operative staff to ensure timely provision of sterile instruments and equipment is crucial. Candidates must be adaptable to changing needs and demonstrate superior customer service. Prior experience in properly selecting wrapping materials and familiarity with high-level disinfection processes are necessary. Candidates should have experience with flexible cystoscopes and various types of surgical tools used in different specialties.
