The facility is comprised of an acute care facility providing exceptional care in various medical and surgical services. The job involves assisting in patient care during labor, delivery, and recovery. You will perform surgical scrub duties and maintain acceptable levels of supplies. This position requires assisting in the operating room with obstetrics-related surgeries. You will also assist with patient care before and after surgery. Essential functions include: Preparing patient rooms and setting up sterile supplies while utilizing aseptic technique. Assisting the surgical team during operative procedures by providing needed supplies and instruments promptly. Participating in the timeout for each case. Assisting nursing staff in deliveries with preparation, positioning, and patient transport. Collecting urinalysis specimens and recording maternal vital signs. Performing personal care services and assisting with activities of daily living for patients. You will prepare, position, transport, transfer, and discharge patients. Additional job-related duties may be assigned as necessary. Organizational requirements include receiving all required vaccinations as a condition of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. The facility participates in E-Verify. The unit has a total bed count and specifically offers care in labor, postpartum, newborn, triage, surgery, and recovery. Staffing includes registered nurses. Call is required, which may involve on-call or low census rotations. Floating to other units may be needed. No weekend coverage is necessary. The medication system is utilized and electronic medical records are in place. There is no lift team on-site. Special equipment used includes epidural pumps. Special procedures performed within the unit encompass C-sections and newborn circumcisions. Scrubs are provided for staff. This role does not have competition.
