Surgical Technologist – Operating Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-hour shifts, day/night rotation | Expected 36 hours/week | 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM start times | Every 3rd weekend as needed | Every other holiday | Call: 1x per schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Perform surgical scrub duties across a broad range of surgical services including general, gynecology, urology, oral, otolaryngology, bariatrics, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, and spine
• Support a high-volume, 22-room OR environment staffed 24/7
• Demonstrate competency in at least 5 of the listed surgical service lines
• Respond to on-call assignments as scheduled (1x per schedule)
• May float to other OR campuses as operationally needed
• Maintain a positive attitude, flexibility, and excellent communication skills in a fast-paced Level 1 trauma environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient surgical experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Active NBSTSA certification required — no other surgical tech certification accepted
• BLS certification required
• Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be placed at a local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience across multiple surgical specialties (5 or more from the listed service lines preferred)
• Prior experience in a large, multi-room academic or teaching hospital OR setting
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to floating assignments across campus locations
