Schedule/Shift

3x12 hour shifts; 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM. Every other weekend is required. Floating is required based on facility needs.

Job Description

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a 48-bed cardiac telemetry PCU at Sinai Hospital. The unit typically sees an average daily census of approximately 48 adult patients primarily admitted from the Emergency Department, Cath Lab, and other inpatient units. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, NSTEMI, AFib with RVR, other cardiac arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization patients. The unit utilizes PCAs/CNAs and LPNs as part of a team nursing approach, with a focus on timely discharge, hourly rounding, and bedside shift reports.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem/Diltiazem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and insulin.
• Perform blood product administration, peripheral IV management, and phlebotomy.
• Administer and maintain Heparin protocols and PCA management.
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac arrhythmias.
• Provide pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care and manage patients post-MI.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of PCU/Telemetry experience is required.
• Experience in a teaching hospital and Level I/II trauma is preferred.
• Strong telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management experience.
• Pre- and post-cardiac catheterization experience.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Maryland RN license upon submission.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Prophecy Relias Basic EKG assessment is required.
• 4 hours of stroke continuing education annually are required.
