Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Float Position is located in Johnson City, New York. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care across various medical-surgical units, supporting the facilitys mission to promote patient-centered care through a flexible and adaptable nursing team. The RN will work in a dynamic environment, assisting with patient management, care coordination, and ensuring adherence to clinical standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with rotating schedule including every other weekend.
- Required Qualifications: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License; BLS Certification from AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross; nursing experience of at least 6 months to 3 years; management experience of 0 to 3 years; five or more years of direct clinical nursing experience; strong collaboration, communication, judgment, critical thinking, organizational, planning, problem-solving, quality, reliability, safety, and risk management skills; diploma or degree from an accredited nursing school; EPIC experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting; bachelors degree in Nursing preferred; professional certification in a related nursing specialty; relevant skills certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC as required by the assigned unit.
- Additional Information: This position requires proficiency in telemetry and cardiac care, including experience with TAVR, watchmans, mitral clips, heart catheterizations, and post-op open heart surgeries. The RN will be expected to demonstrate competency in cardiac IV therapy, medication administration, use of cardiac drips, and groin management. Skills checklists should be completed accurately. The role may involve floating to different units, with a focus on maintaining patient safety and quality care.
