Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of recent acute med/surg experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• 3 East Med/Surg unit at a 22-bed hospital floor
• Night shift, 7PM-7AM, 13-week assignment
• Patient ratio up to 6:1
• Standard unit equipment used
• Meditech EMR
• Floating required to other med/surg units

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute med/surg experience required
• Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time
• Neuro patient experience (CVA, TIA, AMS) preferred
• Neuro, neuro-surgery, or ortho background preferred, med/surg/tele background also acceptable
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care for med/surg patients including IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, continuous bladder irrigation, and NGT insertion/maintenance
• Document in EHR and communicate with all members of the care team
• Friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused personality preferred
• Scrubs required for dress code
