Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cardiovascular Telemetry unit, requiring 2 years of specialty experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• 54-bed Cardiovascular Telemetry unit divided into three 18-bed wings, with additional overflow unit coverage
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Floating may be requested based on facility needs
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active VA RN license in hand or proof of compact license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (preferred), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), with ACLS and BLS through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Specialty experience within the last year required
• NIH and stroke education required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Cardiac telemetry and monitoring experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing cardiac drips required; titration skills preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and pre/post cardiac surgery care
• Sheath removal experience required
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required
• Peripheral line care and management experience required
• Central line care/management and PICC line management preferred
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge preferred
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and non-invasive airway management preferred
• Chemotherapy administration experience preferred
• Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry nursing care including monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac drip administration
• Support patients pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post cardiac surgery, and post-MI
• Coordinate care for ER holding and telemetry patients as needed
• May be scheduled to work during any holiday occurring within the assignment period
• Local candidates accepted at the same base rate
• Prior permanent employees must have separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to travel
• Requested time off (RTO) should be minimal, ideally none during the assignment and no more than 7 days total, with all requests submitted and approved prior to offer
• Travel experience is not required, so first-time travelers are welcome to apply
