Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with a current CA license and prior travel nursing experience for a 13-week night shift assignment.

Details

• Telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4 across days, nights, and weekends
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 1900-0730)
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Floating required
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand (EMSA not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• At least 1 year of specialty experience within the last 2 years for specialized units
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• OCN and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred
• CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required in-hand for ER and Float Pool RNs
• Prior Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in work history
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Heparin protocols
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Two supervisor references required for consideration
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response for dysrhythmias
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Previous UC Irvine staff must have been gone a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days of RTO preferred per 13-week contract
• First-time travelers are not considered for this role
