Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - Telemetry for a day-shift contract requiring EKG proficiency and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit caring for boarded patients in the ED (not ED patients)
• Floating required to other MS units when not needed in the ED
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Every-other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No on-call requirement
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IL RN license
• Current BLS certification (American Heart or American Red Cross only)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, 4+ years preferred
• Passing score of 80% or higher on EKG test required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required with at least 1 completed travel assignment
• 2 professional references required, with 1 from most recent travel assignment
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for boarded patients within the ED setting along with MS/Tele floating duties
• On Day 1, travelers must complete an on-site EKG test; failure may result in contract termination
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated for at least 12 months before being submitted as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for this 8-week contract
• Must work 1-2 holidays during the contract
• Hospital conducts a brief interview (10-15 minutes) as part of the hiring process
