Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience and a minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Step down unit within a hospital setting
• Telemetry/stepdown patient population including cardiac, neuro, and respiratory cases
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-07:30
• Schedule includes weekend coverage
• Floating required
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI Blue Card preferred (required for ER and Float Pool nurses)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of acute care experience required
• Prior experience in the specialty area within the last 2 years required for specialized units
• Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in work history
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Two supervisor references required
• Skills in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, line management, and cardiac drip management

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to stepdown/telemetry patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and line management
• Respond to cardiac dysrhythmias and participate in rapid response/code team activities
• Manage patients with conditions such as CVA, post-TPA care, post cardiac catheterization, and respiratory support needs
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible to return as a traveler
• No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract preferred
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
