Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of tele experience on a heavy neuro unit.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
• Heavy neuro patient population including post-surgical neurology and varied neurology diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Floating between units required
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 48-hour work weeks approved
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry experience required
• Neuro experience is not required but willingness to learn heavy neuro caseload is necessary
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management preferred
• Experience with neurological conditions such as craniotomy, CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring preferred
• Two professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for submission

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown nursing care to a medically complex patient population
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs may be any color for RNs
• No parking fees at this facility
• Candidates living within 50 miles may be accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travamer and cannot reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), with added support typically needed for Christmas
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• May be required to float to sister facilities within the system
