Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring at least 1 year of tele experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
• Heavy neuro unit with post-surgical neurology and varied neurology diagnoses patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
• Floating between units required
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 48-hour work weeks approved
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• No prior neuro experience required, but willingness to learn heavy neuro caseload expected
• Comfortable with NIH Stroke Scale and caring for post-surgical neurology patients preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP) preferred
• Experience with craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury patients preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide telemetry nursing care within a teaching hospital environment with a strong neurology patient focus
• Scrub color is any color for RNs
• No parking fees at this facility
• Christmas holiday coverage is especially needed, with flexibility expected around this holiday
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the region
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius accepted at a lower bill rate
