Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN-Telemetry for a night shift position requiring an active MA RN license and 2+ years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Required to work every other weekend
• May float to the Emergency Department for boarder patients as needed
• Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations; must be able to work all 7 days of the week

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration), heparin protocols, and IV insulin protocols
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and total joint replacement care
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

• Must successfully pass a Pass/Fail Telemetry test during orientation with an 80% score, with only one attempt allowed
• Must also pass a Pass/Fail Medication exam at orientation
• Pre-start and orientation modules required, with additional annual modules
• Major holiday coverage required, with the possibility of working two of three major holidays
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed during the first week
• Candidates must have a 12-month separation from the health system if previously employed there
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius
• Candidates must reside within a 200-mile radius to be eligible for travel positions
