Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

A telemetry nurse is a specialized registered nurse responsible for continuously monitoring patients’ vital signs and heart rhythms using automated equipment, such as EKGs. These nurses provide care for acutely ill patients, often transitioning from intensive care, who require close observation for heart-related diseases or other serious conditions.

Schedule and Shift Details

• Shift: 12-hour Night shifts
• Hours: 36 hours guaranteed, with options for overtime after 48 hours
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms consistently.
• Perform assessments and interpret data to manage patient care effectively.
• Collaborate with medical staff to develop and execute care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions and care plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in telemetry nursing.
• NIH Stroke training is required.
• NIHSS and ACLS certification is preferred.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Active RN license in Michigan required at the time of application.
