Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Trauma ICU of a Level I Trauma Center teaching hospital
  • Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU patient population
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
  • Weekend rotation and holiday rotation required
  • Floating required as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), AHA only
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required within the last 3 years
  • Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher overall passing score
  • Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients
  • Care for patients requiring respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and mechanical ventilation
  • Manage patients on continuous IV sedation, paralytics, and emergency medications
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available including bus and park & ride
