Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the Trauma ICU at a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma teaching hospital
  • Care for medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patient populations
  • Day/Evening shifts, 3x12 hours, 0700-1930
  • Every other weekend rotation with some holiday coverage required
  • Floating required as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required within the last 3 years
  • Medical, Surgical, and Trauma ICU experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Trauma Level I hospital experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric dysrhythmia interpretation with strict passing criteria
  • Proficiency required in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, and ventilator management
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to medical, surgical, and trauma ICU patients, including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and administration of vasoactive and sedative drips
  • Located at a top-ranked, nationally recognized teaching and referral hospital in Madison, WI
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • References should not be included with application materials
  • Telemetry exam must be passed within two attempts, with a required cardiac interpretation review course certificate if a third attempt is needed
  • First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for consideration
