Key Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic general radiographic procedures by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accrediting body and/or manufacturer guidelines and department protocols
Review radiology orders, patient history, labs, and supporting clinical data to ensure correct exam selection and medical necessity
Administer IV contrast and oral/rectal contrast when appropriate; recognize and respond to adverse or allergic reactions
Transfer and verify image data in PACS and provide necessary medical history and information for Radiologist interpretation
Maintain imaging equipment, supply inventories, and orderliness of the work area; report malfunctions and service needs in a timely manner
Ensure patient, visitor, and environmental safety; report safety events immediately including near-miss occurrences

Required Qualifications

Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology
Radiography (R) - ARRT certification required
IEMA Radiography License - State of Illinois required
BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative
Positive attitude and demonstrated willingness to assess and improve the work environment
