Summary:

This position will be responsible for a variety of accounting duties including investment accounting General Ledger entries, recording investment trades and settlements, safekeeping correspondence, pledging, daily cash management, public funds reporting, assisting with month end close, and assisting with ALM and Board reporting. The position will also be expected to stay current with accounting changes, research accounting issues, and determine the impact to Colony.

Location: Any Colony Bank location

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

• Provide day-to-day management of investment accounting, bond payments, and trade settlements utilizing information from a third-party bond accounting provider and broker reports.
• Posting of investments related General Ledger entries, including payments received, monthly accruals, and other investment related activity.
• Correspond with the third-party bond accounting provider and safekeeping institution to ensure accuracy of investment reporting.
• Manage the Bank's public funds reporting, pledging, and compliance.
• Assists with cash and liquidity management, including cash position, borrowings, forecasts, and reporting.
• Assists with and participates in the monthly close process.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience:

• Experience with investment accounting.
• Experience in banking preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent computer skills
• Ability to think and analyze quickly while producing quality work.
• High attention to detail.
• Must present professional image when dealing with internal staff and external representatives.

Work Environment: Requires regular office conditions.
