Schedule: Weekdays | 1st Shift | 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Join a mission-driven organization dedicated to fighting hunger and supporting communities in need. We're seeking a reliable, service-oriented Food Rescue Truck Driver to collect donated food from retail stores, food banks, and community partners and deliver it to support food pantry and meal programs.

What You'll Do

Food Rescue & Deliveries

  • Complete scheduled food pickups and deliveries throughout the North Shore/Boston Metro area
  • Ensure rescued food is safely transported following food safety standards
  • Track pickups, deliveries, and mileage logs accurately
  • Follow assigned routes and donor schedules with professionalism and consistency

Vehicle & Route Management

  • Perform basic vehicle checks (fluids, tires, cleanliness, maintenance logs)
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck
  • Monitor routine maintenance needs and keep records up to date

Support Operations

  • Assist with pantry, kitchen, dining hall, and storage area cleanliness
  • Support waste management and sanitation standards
  • Help with seasonal and special food service programs as needed
  • Participate in trainings, team meetings, and occasional community/fundraising events

Relationship Building

  • Build positive relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners
  • Represent the organization professionally at all pickup locations

 

What We're Looking For

  • Clear driving record (DOT Card required)
  • 2+ years of related driving or delivery experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly (occasionally more)
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to service and community impact

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to pass CORI/SORI background checks
  • Food handling awareness or willingness to follow food safety standards
  • Experience working with diverse populations preferred
