Overview:

HOURLY RATE: $22.51-$25.00

 

POSITION SUMMARY: Operates a truck primarily to deliver or pick up merchandise/donations from donation centers, Goodwill stores/facilities, businesses or private residences.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions Statement:

  1. Safeguards all donations and company property from damage and theft. Treats all donations and company property with respect and care. Assists donors when present and necessary.
  2. Reads maps, operates navigational tools (Teletrac/GPS) and follows written and verbal geographic directions.
  3. Maintains records such as Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRS) and daily Trip Sheets according to all State and Federal laws and company procedures.
  4. Provides basic direction and redirection if assigned a Truck Helper.
  5. Safely operates/drives 20-26 foot bobtail trucks, completing all daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on assigned vehicles, immediately reporting any supply needs, equipment needs/issues and any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles to Dispatch or a Transportation Management member.
  6. Safely and efficiently loads and unloads truck, vehicles, containers and trailers. Loads and unloads vehicles by hand or with the use of a hand truck, lift gate and/or pallet jack.
  7. Maintains communication with Dispatch, calling at each stop and at scheduled times throughout the day.  Appropriately uses and responds to Teletrac messages.
  8. Safely and efficiently pads, stacks, and secures items in position on the truck to prevent damage during transit.
  9. Abides by all safety procedures and policies at all times. Reports any safety concerns immediately to on-site management or immediate supervisor.
  10. Performs other miscellaneous duties as directed or assigned.
Qualifications:

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Education: High School Degree or GED preferred.

 

Experience: 6 months industrial vehicle driving experience required, one year preferred.

 

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to operate GPS tracking system preferred.

 

Certificates & Licenses: Valid California Driver’s License, (Class C) with driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company’s standards.
