Coordinate and monitor daily driver schedules and routes, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and FMCSA Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
Utilize dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and online load boards (such as DAT) to source, assign, and manage freight loads effectively
Act as the primary communication link between drivers, customers, and management, providing clear, timely, and professional updates
Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, including breakdowns, delays, missed pickups, or route changes
Maintain accurate digital dispatch and trip records, including shipment details, driver hours, and scheduling information within dispatch systems
Navigate and utilize customer portals to accept loads, upload required documentation, and relay accurate dispatch instructions to drivers
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time
Qualifications
Proven experience as a truck dispatcher, freight broker, or similar logistics role
Strong problem-solving and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
Tech-savvy with experience using dispatch software, GPS systems, and online freight platforms
Working knowledge of transportation industry regulations and compliance standards
Physical Demands
This position is primarily office-based.
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
Frequent use of hands for data entry and document handling
Occasional standing, walking, bending, or light lifting (up to 15 pounds)
Visual acuity required to review dispatch systems, documents, and computer screens
